How the fax service works if very simple. When a call comes in, the TVS PBX listens for a fax tone, and if one is detected the call is directed to your virtual fax machine. The virtual fax machine then converts it to a PDF and emails it to your inbox.

A Direct Inward Dial or DID number is assigned to each virtual fax machine. A DID number is one that is a direct number into a workstation within the company. There can be several individual DID numbers to any one workstation, but it gives an individual number for whatever purposes they may be needed for in that company. This number is not only for voice calls now, but it is used to receive the faxes. This leaves only one number for the user or client to remember. The user’s email inbox will then receive all messages – both voicemail and faxes.

Sending messages is just as easy as receiving. With just a few clicks, you can send a fax from your desktop in whatever application you are working in, such as Microsoft Word, Excell, Outlook, and others. This feature has wonderfully eliminated the need to go to the office fax machine, wait while sensitive documents send, etc. This greatly helps to ensure privacy policies are not in jeopardy of being violated.
